ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Stacy! Owner, operator, photographer, editor, constant contact, and one-woman-show of Design Studio.
First of all, let me just say that I love my job! I get to meet some of the coolest people and be a part of some of the happiest days of their lives. That is so special. Not only that but I get to document it and create images that will be cherished for generations. I take that seriously. It is a huge responsibility. I always want to make sure that my clients are happy with their full experience with me. Plus, I get to use my artistic eye to create truly beautiful works of art in my photographs.
I wouldn't be me without my family. I am blessed with a super supportive husband and two amazing sons who keep me on my toes. You can find them pictured many times on my gallery pages. Sawyer and Owen are both teenagers now! Where does the time go?!?! They are the most important thing to me in the world! We love to spend time together as a family doing all kinds of things. I think our favorite though is to go on vacations together and discover new things.
A few fun facts about me...
I lived in Georgia as a kid so you may just hear a y'all come out (especially if you have any kind of a southern accent yourself). I am kind of a tomboy which bodes well for me being a mom of two boys. We like to go fishing together and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. But I also enjoy being kind of girly. I mean who doesn't love a good pedicure and I LOVE shopping with my girlfriends! I love shoes but I hate socks. I tend to wear Toms, sandals and UGGS (all things that require no socks). I have my Bachelors of Arts degree in Visual Arts, Art History, and Art Education. In fact, I was an art teacher for ten years! What I miss most is the funny discussions I have had with my high school students. You know who you are and remember I never said that. ;) When I write, I use way too many explanation points...I guess I am just really excited!!! I love carbs (hello pizza and pasta!) and Diet Mountain Dew (even though I know better). I love art though I never considered myself an artist. Maybe it is just a label thing. I don't care for labels. I am just me. Doing my own thing with what works best for me and my family and makes me happy. My new favorite quote is "Weird is a side effect of awesome" and I love to teach my kids that. I don't want to ever feel like I have to fit into a certain box.
As a business owner, my goal is simply to make my customers happy and have them walk away having had a great experience. And OF COURSE to give you the most beautiful photos of yourself and your loved ones! I love meeting new people and hope to meet you soon!
