Hailee & Travis were married at sunset on the beach of the beautiful Reef Playacar resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. They were surrounded by friends and family who flew in from all over the country for their special day. It was quite a turn out too with around 45 people attending. We were all treated to an amazing catamaran ride in place of the traditional grooms dinner; complete with snorkeling, swimming, dinner, and even ended the evening with dolphins swimming along with us (one of my favorite moments)!
I have never attended, let alone photographed, a destination wedding before and I feel so blessed to have been trusted to capture their day. This day was perfect! I may have sweat off all of my makeup in the first five minutes but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! What an experience and a truly amazing day! They had the best group of people with them to celebrate and I am honored to have met them. My husband and I felt like part of the family by the end of our trip.
I am loving working on editing these images because I am happy to relive the day and find myself smiling from ear to ear. I hope you enjoy previewing their day and can get a sense of just how beautiful it truly was.
Hailee and Travis had their first look on their private balcony overlooking the ocean and pool area. The sun was shining bright and it was certainly hot but I don't think it could have been more special or perfect!
After their first look, Hailee's dad and brothers got to see her for the first time. I may have teared up a little... but that was quickly relieved when Travis attempted to put on Hailee's wedding ring and it was a little bit of a struggle with the heat. It was a good laugh for all!
The Reef Playacar is a stunning resort with little villas nestled along paths within a jungle; complete with a Cenote and waterfalls. It was so nice to have so much shade to cool off in for a little bit.
Once portraits were done, we got to cool off with some refreshing ice cream! A nice little break before they said their "I do's." The ceremony was located right on the beach surrounded by palm trees and lush foilage. It was just as the sun was starting to go down behind the trees, so the perfect temperature. Hailee's brother officiated the ceremony and did a great job! So special to have someone close to them unite them in marriage.
They did it! Officially Mr. and Mrs. Clark! Congratulations to this fabulous couple!!!
After the ceremony, was the perfect time for photos! The sun was setting and the sky began to turn the most beautiful colors! I could have just kept going and going with pictures but I figured I should probably let them enjoy their reception as well. ;) These are definitely my favorite pictures of the day though. The love, the water, the sky... BEAUTIFUL!
